Friday Favorites // 053 ::

  1. Another good summery crochet top in black. Thank you, ModCloth! Black can be for summertime, too! While warm weather and sunshine definitely bring out my more colorful side, I’m still the most comfortable in black and earth tones. And, of course, I will wear all the crochet.
  2. This dusty pink lace bra from Journelle is gorgeous. And, of course, matching briefs.
  3. I’ve been testing the newest Meow Meow Tweet deodorant options for the last few weeks, and let me tell you, game changer. If you need a vegan stick deodorant, look no further. Lavender Bergamot is my favorite of the two scents, but both do a really good job.
  4. I am candle obsessed, and I love them even more when they’re made with essential oils.
  5. This pin!
  6. How gorgeous is this graywood and lava stone aromatherapy necklace (currently OOS) from Lava Essentials!?
  7. I once purchased a Natural Life mug from a thrift store for $.99, and it was one of my favorites until it got lost (or broken?) in my move last summer. It had such a great feel to it. This “cup of sunshine” mug would be a suitable replacement.

Happy Friday!

Friday Favorites // 052 ::

  1. I love the embroidery on this top.
  2. I so desperately wish we had a bath tub. I love a good salt soak, like this one from Herbivore Botanicals.
  3. Say hello to Teami teas! Their Relax blend contains lavender, chamomile, lemon grass, orange peel, and valerian root extract. Yes, please. To save 10% on your Teami order, use the code GIRLDUST at checkout.
  4. These silver earring jackets from Species by the Thousands are effortless and beautiful.
  5. Sea Bags are made from recycled sail cloth on the working waterfront in Portland, ME. Home sweet home. Look at this sea turtle wristlet!
  6. I love the gold geometric pattern on the Desert Skies infinity scarf from Rythmatix. Products are made in the US with organic fabrics. These come in a few different colors, but the print looks so great on cream!
  7. This mossy green kaftan from Free People is totally dreamy. Sometimes I wish summer lasted just a bit longer.

Have a beautiful weekend!

Welcome Friday! I started writing this post from the comfort of our back deck. It’s been a long while since I’ve had a computer that could actually be considered portable, and I’m definitely warming to the idea. We’ve yet to find ourselves a comfortable set of deck chairs, but I’m happy for the moment to take advantage of the sunshine in a stowaway camp chair. I’ve got cold brew coffee, and a wild cat companion at my feet. It’s a good morning. We put a lot of work into this corner of the backyard over the last week or so, and it’s already paying off.

Friday Favorites // 051 ::

  1. These moon earrings by Merewif from Moorea Seal are killer.
  2. The aqua sunglasses from Rainbow OPTX are perfect. I’m actually really into most of the transparent frame options! Which is your favorite?
  3. I’m newly obsessed with Pura Vida bracelets. Every bracelet purchased helps provide full time jobs for artisans in Costa Rica, and Pura Vida has also teamed up with some great conservation charities (including Shark Savers). Obviously, I’ve signed up to a rep. Receive 20% off your Pura Vida order using the code NAOMIDENSMORE20 at checkout.
  4. New papaya pineapple lip balm from Hurraw! Give me ten tubes, thanks. Also, if you’re worried about your lips this summer, the SPF 15 balm balm is just great. It’s one of my favorites, and it smells like tangerine!
  5. Celestite is known to soothe anxiety. I have one or two small tumbled specimens, but this raw crystal cluster is stunning.
  6. I really love elephants. I have been known to cry in their presence. To be honest, I get emotional about a lot of animals. This will probably never change. This cute and comfy looking tank top is made in the US.
  7. I would love to get my hands on this Toshio Saeki (aka the Godfather of Japanese Eroticism) anthology book. The product description at Magic Pony covers the bases, if you’re unfamiliar with ero-guru. NSFW.

Friday Favorites // 050 ::

This is a downright summery Friday Favorites! Have a good weekend, friends! I hope you’re able to spend some time outside. ♥

  1. The June Julep Maven collection was revealed, today. We’re still in pastel and brights territory, which is why I skipped May’s box, but I like Alaina (driftwood taupe creme) from this collection. I’ve been keeping my nails short due to some damage, so I’m into neutral polishes, lately.
  2. The Tribeca top from Mata Traders is so, so cute. It’s available in a red print, as well.
  3. I might have to do a full second post on enamel pins, but for now can we please at least appreciate the Moustache P.I.N. by Full Sweatpants? My mom was a big fan of detective and mystery shows when I was growing up (which is definitely why I’m still kind of obsessed), and Magnum PI was one of our favorites to watch together.
  4. I’ve fallen hard for this sterling silver whale wrap ring from Alex and Ani.
  5. I think you know how much I love PrAna. It’s not like it’s some big secret. The Amelie dress (show here in Green Lace, because it’s adorable) is made of a 45% recycled blend. PrAna offers a number of Fair Trade, organic, and recycled options. Read more about their sustainability practices here. In the recent kerfuffle over labor practices of the “luxury” activewear industry, this is a company worth supporting.
  6. New shades from Rituel de Fille. Check out the Cultus collection! I’d love to get my hands on Whitethorn. These lipsticks are 100% worth the splurge, by the way. I purchased Rue a few months ago, and I’ve never looked back. All Rituel de Fille products are cruelty-free, 99% natural, and handcrafted without parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes or synthetic fragrances.
  7. We’re pretty candle obsessed in this house. Paddywax makes some of my favorites. This verbena and patchouli blend is new to me, and seems like it would smell amazing.

Friday Favorites // 049 ::

  1. I am 99% certain I need this tee.
  2. New elderberry soap from LUSH!
  3. Someone on my Instagram feed recently posted an excerpt from the introduction to this book, and now it’s officially on my reading list. This author has my dream job, and I often wish I had been better prepared and motivated immediately coming out of undergrad with my Asian Studies degree. I’m hoping working towards my Museum Studies MA will help push me in a workable and satisfying direction. I’m helping with research for a potential exhibit at my internship right now, and it’s sort of nice to be working with Japanese history (and maybe a little folklore), again.
  4. I’m back in the essential oils game! If you’re curious, check out my YL page for more information. When I first started out with Young Living three years ago, Valor was my favorite oil blend, but it was constantly sold out. They’ve since released Valor II, and I am all about it. It’s a blend of Young Living’s exclusive Northern Lights Black Spruce and Idaho Blue Spruce essential oils, along with Ylang Ylang, Frankincense, Vetiver, Cistus, Bergamot, Cassia, German Chamomile, and some others. This blend is calming, uplifting, and perfect for diffusing. If your “sacred space” (whatever that might entail) needs a refresh, this is the oil blend for the job. I really can’t talk it up enough. You can purchase it retail or by becoming a member. Let me know if you have questions!
  5. It’s almost flip flop weather! I hated flip flops for the longest time until I discovered Sanuk. Do yourself a favor this summer. I’ve raved about it before, but your feet will thank you.
  6. These stunningly simple hugging ear hoops by Melissa Joy Manning are available in rose gold, gold, and white gold from Free People. Made in the US. I’m falling more and more in love with bare basic jewelry like this. Is it an age thing? Give me something lovely that I can wear daily with anything, and I’m happy.
  7. This is the year of the slackline. Fingers crossed, but I’ve got a lot of backyard motivation right now. I’m really only familiar with Gibbon, but if anyone has any brand recommendations or best practices, I am all ears.
  8. You just can’t beat a knit dress, and I love this black and gray striped one.
