  1. This chocolatey orange lip scrub from LUSH has been a post-winter savior. This particular flavor is an Easter-only item, and I’m really disappointed that I didn’t think to buy more than one. I love it so much! I might try to scoot back into the Harvard Square location before class on Monday next week and grab another. Will they still have it? I don’t knoooow!
  2. I’ve fallen hard for Pacifica’s Indian Coconut Nectar scent, which is a delicious warm blend of vanilla and coconut. I use this new hair and body spray every single day. Pacifica is 100% vegan and cruelty free. This smells like summer.
  3. This tee from Pretty Nobody Co hits me right in the feels. It’s my life.
  4. Boy Bye is a new spring shade from Trust Fund Beauty and it’s gorgeous.
  5. If you’re in need of new flip flops this summer, do yourself a favor and buy a pair of Sanuks. Trust me. I am a former flip flop hater. Three years ago, the Yoga Mat flips changed my life. I will never stop talking about these. Shown here is the Yoga Mat Webbing.
  6. I would very much like to read this book now, please and thank you. May 30!?
  7. Weird Beard Candle Company released a new batch of scents earlier this week. Float On is officially on my wishlist! I need it! Please somebody feel free to buy me ten of them. When I was a kidlet, the rootbeer scented scratch n’ sniffs were my favorites. And honestly, the smell of root beer is still pretty darn euphoric for me.

  • I’ve recently become obsessed with Humm Kombucha. You can find it at Target and it’s basically… kombucha for people who are new to kombucha? Mainstream booch? I don’t know. It’s very sweet, almost like soda. My favorite is the coconut lime. I choose to be low key about my kombucha drinking, because it gives Teej the major heebie jeebies, but this stuff is treat city.
  • Are you a fiddler? I’m definitely a fiddler. While I tend to go for things like doughy or squishy fidget toys (kinetic sand is my favorite thing), these 3D printed gadgets from AntsyToys look like they’re so much fun!
  • I received a fun box of new-to-me cosmetics and skincare goodies from Ulta in the mail, and I can’t wait to share the unboxing with you! This is the summer I learn how to actually paint my face! I hope you’ll come along for the ride. I’ve got a tiny sneak peek up on Insta.
  • It’s still National Park Week! Entrance to all National Parks is free this weekend. Go explore!

Hello, my dust sprites. If you’re reading this, I hope you are well. It’s been awhile since my last Unboxing post! So let’s just dive right in, shall we?

Love Goodly is a bi-monthly box full of healthy, eco-conscious (all vegan) brands. Each box contains 5-7 mostly full-sized products, and is currently priced at $29.95. The selections include beauty, wellness, and lifestyle products. You can read previous reviews here. This season’s box was a collaboration with Liz from My Subscription Addiction, and it includes two of my favorite natural beauty brands: 100% Pure and One Love Organics. The April/May box is valued at over $125.

I’ve been excited about this one!

One Love OrganicsLove Springs Eternal Youth Preservation Serum $75 value

This is such an indulgent addition to my bedtime routine. I’ve been using it for a few evenings, now, and I definitely feel pampered. Three pumps of product is enough for my face and neck.

100% PureMaracuja Black Tea Mascara $25 value

I use mascara even on days when I’m not putting on a “full face” of makeup, so I go through it relatively quickly, at least in comparison to the rest of the products in my cosmetic bag. I also really enjoy trying out more “natural” brands, when it comes to things I use daily. I love the smell of this one, and it’s perfect for a minimal makeup look. 100% Pure has a number of other mascara options, if you’re not into the tea scent (I know a lot of people don’t dig it as much as I do).

100% Pure – Bright Eyes Mask $7 value

I’ve been wanting to give these eye masks a try, so this was a nice surprise! I’m interested in anything that will minimize my dark circles and make me look more awake. I’ll let you know how it goes on Insta.

PureSolBamboo Charcoal Konjac Cleansing Sponge $13 value

Sorry I don’t have a photo of this one. It’s already hanging in my shower! I love using konjac sponges on my face for extra exfoliating power, but I’ve never used a large one like this. This was actually a well-timed surprise; I’ve been looking for a plastic-free alternative to replace my body pouf. This comes with a suction cup hook for the shower that I’m still trying to come up with an alternate use for.

Juice Served Here$10 coupon

I may or may not use this. My finances are not currently in such a state that allows me to spend that much money on …juice …over the internet. So… we’ll see.

Coupon aside, each item in this box is something I needed or wanted, and I will definitely use it all. That’s really the best thing about Love Goodly. The selections have been consistently thoughtful and high quality. This is a beautifully curated box, and I’m still making use of products from previous boxes!

Let me know if you’d like to see more Unboxing or more detailed reviews on individual products! I’d love to get back into the habit, so any input from you would be greatly appreciated. Have a favorite? Let me know in the comments!

  1. I’ve been trying to be more mindful in my clothing purchases and wishlist additions (window shopping only, these days). Will I wear this often? Is it flattering? Who made this? Will it replace something of lesser quality already in my closet? Is it adult? All valid questions. I’ve also been trying to add maybe a little more color to my wardrobe (just a little), but sometimes black is simply the way to go. I love this dress from Synergy Organic Clothing.
  2. Girls. To. The. Front. I love this pin by Chicago-based artist and designer Jenna Blazevich. Find it at Vichcraft. Now, maybe more than ever, we need ladies supporting ladies.
  3. Sand Cloud Towels donates 10% of every purchase to help protect marine life. This peachy beach towel is currently sold out, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for new or re-stocked striped designs closer to spring! You can use this link to save 25% on your first order at Sand Cloud. This is valid for new accounts only; enter your e-mail address to receive a code!
  4. Valentine’s Day at LUSH is basically my favorite ever. Rose scented everything, please! I like buying bath bombs (like this one) to bring on trips, since we don’t have a bathtub. Hotel baths are always nice.
  5. At some point between Halloween and Christmas, my face broke out in a red bumpy rash because of some dumb thing I put on it. Make up? Soap? I don’t know, but since then I’ve been making more of an effort to be kind to my skin. This facial steam herbal blend from Mullein & Sparrow has become a semi-regular part of my self care routine.  It’s full of lavender, rose, and calendula.
  6. That thing I said about clothing at the beginning of this post also definitely applies to jewelry. I spent a few hours last week sorting through my collection and tidying up my displays and storage. I then did a second round yesterday, getting rid of even more junk. It felt good. So, that said, I’m smitten with this pair of tiny, simple pearls. My previously suggested questions have all received the proper answers.

Do something kind for yourself, this weekend, and do something kind for someone else. If you’re able, get outside. Or pick up a book from your library. Support a local business you’ve previously neglected. The light has to come from somewhere.

  1. I am fairly new to the Alex and Ani game. Teej got me a really nice bracelet for my birthday, last year. I like this “Cosmic Balance” bangle. Keeping it simple.
  2. If you’re looking for a lightweight, but ultra nourishing facial moisturizer, I recommend Julep’s What Your Skin Needs restorative facial milk. This is now my go to daytime moisturizer. It’s worked wonders all winter. I wear it under Pacifica’s Ultra CC Cream. This has argan, jojoba, and coconut oil in it, and is safe for sensitive skin. I’m still using this homemade moisturizer recipe at night.
  3. Hey, hey. Psst. Ghost-it notes. That is all. #GhostLife
  4. This book is on my reading list: Ghostly Ruins: American’s Forgotten Architecture.
  5. Okay, so I know it’s not sandal weather yet. I’m holding out. I like these an awful lot. I am going to eventually need something dressier than a flip flop. It’s either going to be these or Birks.
  6. I love this gorgeous cotton woven throw blanket. It belongs on our bed.
  7. I am filing this skirt under “wear to the museum” for the summer. It’s perfect.

  • If you’re a fantasy fan and haven’t watched The Wizards of Aus, yet, I think you probably should. It’s brilliant. Warning: language, dark humor, and violence aplenty. Episode 1.
  • This interview with Stoya for MAC Cosmetics about beauty and just being yourself is from January, but I’m only just reading it now. Stoya is a good human being. I like her an awful lot. NSFW, probably.
  • The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is scheduled to return this summer, after suffering massive delays. I’ve been waiting for ages.
  • The CATS! collection from Icksnay is killer. I can’t wait to bust out this black and white buff for hiking. Designed and made in the US!

It’s officially my favorite month of the year! Happy October!

  1. I love everything about this embroidered cardigan.
  2. What are you reading lately? I’m reading The Stand for the first time ever, and I love it. I’m not sure why it took me so long.
  3. Last year when I read about Death Salon at the Mütter, I made tentative plans in my head that I would return to Philadelphia again for my birthday. This was, of course, long before our Hawaii plans actually came into fruition. I’ve been following The Order of the Good Death and its co-founder, mortician Caitlin Doughty (her current project: Undertaking LA) fairly closely over the last handful of years, in the hopes to help deal with my own crippling anxieties about the inevitable.
  4. This Harvest Greetings card from Poison Apple Printshop is a beauty. I usually send a few fall greeting cards every year. My dad always gets a special Halloween one. It’s our thing. ♥
  5. These apple caramels from Lake Champlain Chocolates are made using Citizen Cider. If you have never in your life tried Lake Champlain Chocolates, I highly recommend that you do. And not just because they’re from my homeland.
  6. My next big jewelry purchase (one I’ll need to save for) will most definitely be a piece from Bloodmilk. Maybe I’ll start with the Petite Planchette ring.
  7. I’ve been really into facial masks and treatments, lately. I’d love to try this pineapple brightening mask from Herbivore Botanicals. My skin gets pretty dull looking, especially when winter rolls along, and I have yet to figure out how to work any magic using makeup.
